Congratulations to the Dell City High Class of 2021 – Tristan and Vanessa

2021 Cougar grads Vanessa Galvan and Tristan Smetak

The Dell City School and Dell Valley communities came together Friday, May 28, at Cougar Field, to celebrate the Class of 2021 – Tristan Smetak, valedictorian, and Vanessa Galvan, salutatorian.

The evening began with a procession of school board members, faculty and the two graduates-to-be, to the traditional melody of “Pomp and Circumstance,” played by the Mighty Cougar Band (school staffers Coe Perry and Joseph Czubinski). There was the presentation of colors, and the national anthem, before Galvan and Smetak led the crowd in the pledge of allegiance and the Texas pledge. There were words and presentations by school board President Steve Carpenter, Supt. Carlos A. Contreras and Dean of Instruction Tesha Czubinski, and both Smetak and Galvan gave speeches to the gathered crowd. Contreras and school board members presented the Cougar grads with their diplomas, and a video presentation, prepared by staffer Melanie Gentry followed.

It was a lovely evening – the Dell Valley and Hudspeth County communities are so proud of Tristan and Vanessa, and we wish them the best in the next stage of their lives!
