Susie Estrada, Adriana Sanchez, Elsa McCray Recognized as Outstanding Dell City School Employees
Congratulations to Dell City ISD staffers Susie Estrada, Elsa McCray and Adriana Sanchez, who were recognized at last week's school board meeting for going “above and beyond” in their work at the school. Susie Estrada is a paraprofessional at the school, and Adriana Sanchez is the district's ESL instructional aide, but the two were honored at the May 29 board meeting for recent contributions outside the classroom. Susie and Adriana organized prom for Dell City High students – and then organized a “mini-prom” for Dell City elementary. The mini-prom was a hit, and it left students and families asking for more such events.
Elsa McCray joined the district this year as a teacher's aide. But in comments to the school board, Principal Carlos A. Contreras said Elsa's contributions have gone beyond that job description – she's helped in the cafeteria and on the bus route, and is always on hand to set up, and clean up, for special events.
“The kids love her, and the teachers are indebted to her, because she is always out there with a smile,” Contreras said. “She's always willing to volunteer and help when she's asked. She's an awesome individual, and a great blessing and addition to our little school.”
Congratulations, Elsa, Susie and Adriana, and thank you for everything you do!
